PETROPHYSICS - This area involves, in addition to the Petrophysics studies themselves, research on the characterization of reservoirs and studies on Physical Properties of Rocks. This area of concentration will have lines of research covering laboratory work on rock physics and Geophysics in Poços.

Research Lines:

1- Development and application of heuristic methods to the study of reservoirs.

2- Evaluation of formation and qualification of hydrocarbon reservoirs.

3- Physical modeling of geophysical methods.


PROCESSING AND INTERPRETATION OF GEOPHYSICAL DATA - This includes the most practical type of work, involving the acquisition, processing and interpretation of geophysical data: this area includes works applied to Archeology, environmental problems, Marine Geophysics and other Near-Surface Geophysics, in addition to research on the development of processing flows of data and applications with real data.

Research Lines:

1-Near-surface geophysics.

2- Imaging of geophysical data.


GEOPHYSICAL DATA MODELING AND INVERSION - An area involving the most theoretical works, of modeling, inversion and integration methodologies of different geophysical methods.

Research Lines:

1- Coastal Dynamics.

2- Incorporation of links in the reverse geophysical problem.

3- Geophysics applied to hydrocarbon exploration.
